FALL RIVER, Mass. (AP) — An associate of former New England Patriot Aaron Hernandez who has been charged as an accessory to murder is set to make his next court appearance.

Carlos Ortiz is due in Fall River Superior Court Thursday afternoon. He had been scheduled to appear in November but his attorney wanted more time to go through a large amount of evidence from prosecutors.

Ortiz has pleaded not guilty to being an accessory after the fact. He's being held on $500,000 cash bail.

Hernandez has pleaded not guilty to murder in the death of Odin Lloyd. The Boston man was dating the sister of Hernandez's girlfriend.

A search warrant filed in Connecticut also indicates police believe Hernandez was in an SUV when someone inside fatally shot two people in Boston in 2012.
