BRISTOL, Conn. (WHDH) — No one talking at the home of Aaron Hernandez's uncle and aunt in Bristol, Connecticut following a search here by police Wednesday night. But other relatives of the accused killer are speaking up.

Randy Garcia, a cousin of Hernandez, proudly shows off pictures the former Patriot in his home. He says he and other family members are in shock over Hernandez's arrest for murder.

“No matter what happens the truth will come out eventually,” Randy Garcia said.

“It hurt; yeah I had tears in my eyes. Me and my nephew were watching it on TV and I had a lot of tears in my eyes,” Garcia said.

Aaron Hernandez obviously still a big star in Bristol. Across the street from his relatives house that was searched is the field where he played his elementary school football. Neighbors remember it well.

“I remember when the girls won their championship and the boys had to give the girls flowers and Aaron was one of the boys giving the girls flowers,” said Mickie Steele, neighbor.

Neighbor Mickie Steele, whose daughter was a cheerleader when Hernandez played football from grade school through high school in Bristol, says the accused killer police are portraying is not the Aaron she knows.

“He's a great guy, I mean I have nothing bad to say about Aaron,” Steele said.

“Yeah we’re all keeping our fingers crossed. You know, hopefully something comes out of this that he’s not guilty or it didn’t happen with him. What I see on TV doesn’t look good,” said another neighbor, Mike Lauzier.
