July 21st. Where is summer going? Where everything else goes….to the past. The upcoming week offers weather similar to what we have seen so far….a fair amount of sun, a little bit of rain, some humidity and a brief burst of heat (midweek).

First things first, today, we have low clouds & fog with us at this time (even some rain showers on the Cape). The low clouds/fog will fade quickly this morning across interior locations but at the coast it will take until midday before we can shed those clouds. IN fact, on the South Shore/Cape/South Coast those clouds may linger for much of the day. High Pressure across eastern New York is slow to build this way but it will make it into New England this afternoon and be with us for a few days. As the High Pressure settles just south of us tomorrow & sits there on Wednesday a southwesterly flow begins to warm us up & pump humidity into the region. Despite an increase in heat & humidity, the thunder threat is low.

By Thursday, a cool front sweeps into New England. This front will work in tandem with the warmth/humidity to spark showers/t-storms for much of the day. The showers will be scattered so outdoor plans can get accomplished (sans the beaches). Not as hot with the clouds/showers.

Friday is challenging right now as one computer model keeps rain in here while the other has nothing but sunshine…as of now, I split the diff and say morning clouds giving way to afternoon sun.

Enjoy your week!
