Fan of the Beatles? Me too, and the song It’s Getting Better All The Time (Sgt. Pepper’s Album) works for our weather M. O. these next few days with Memorial Day being the best of the bunch.

Today isn’t pretty, I’ll just get that out of the way as the day will feature mainly cloudy skies with coastal drizzle & fog as well as a few isolated showers this afternoon. Away from the ocean (as in Worcester Hills) you will see some sunshine but it will be limited. Temps will be cool for everyone, ranging from 50s at the coast to 60s well inland with that limited sun. A touch of humidity as well. Scattered showers are likely tonight.

For Saturday, it starts how today ends….a bunch of clouds, patchy drizzle as well as some fog. As we step through the morning and into the afternoon skies will partially clear out, more so away from the ocean. The problem with that sunshine is that it will energize the atmosphere and pop a few isolated showers & t-storms. As of now it looks like northern & western New England have the highest chance (60%) of these scattered showers popping up but some of them will drift into southern N.H./Worcester Hills by mid to late afternoon. Despite a bunch of clouds around metro Boston, it stays dry throughout the day.

Sunday & Memorial Day offer more & more sunshine as well as a warming trend. Afternoon temps on Sunday reach the low 70s & near 80 by Monday afternoon.  Sounds great for B-B-Qs, golfing, tennis and perhaps an early season pool party. Beaches might be a little cool on Sunday (upper 60s) but by Monday, those beach temps will jump into the mid 70s! There is still the risk of a pop up shower across northern New England on Sunday & Monday but southern New England is dry.

Whatever your plans are this weekend have fun & be safe!
