Ohio Gov. John Kasich began primary day on a positive note, winning the Republican primary in the small village of Dixville Notch.

The small New Hampshire village, with nine registered voters, opened its polls at midnight Tuesday. Kasich beat Trump, 3-2.

"I already won Dixville Notch, so there’s nothing but blue skies and rainbows," said Kasich. "Soon as I woke up this morning, I had all these emails saying great win at the notch."

Earlier Tuesday, Kasich visited a diner in Manchester, where he served coffee and breakfast and gave interviews. He will join supporters Tuesday evening in Concord as the vote tallies come in.

Kasich has spent more time campaigning in New Hampshire than anyone, holding 106 town hall meetings.
