LOWELL, MASS. (WHDH) - It’s not unusual for a sports team to hand out bobbleheads, but one local college is getting in on a viral trend.
Hundreds of students and fans turned out for “Harambe Night” at UMass-Lowell.
The men’s soccer team led the promotion.
The first 100 students who arrived received a stuffed Harambe doll.
Fans were encouraged to dress in gorilla suits.
Harambe was the gorilla who was shot and killed at the Cincinnati Zoo in May after a child slipped into the animal’s habitat.
