BOURNE, MASS. (WHDH) - Hundreds of donations for military families were lost after a devastating fire on the Cape.

Fire officials said some trailers on Joint Base Cape Cod went up in flames overnight Monday into Tuesday.

Those trailers were filled with toys and supplies that were supposed to go to children—now the donations are lost.

The fire chief said it was possibly an electrical fire.

The Cape Cod Military Support Foundation has been around for just five years but in that time they have helped thousands of children.

The range from toys for Christmas and backpacks for school; thousands of items were lost.

The organizer said what happened is devastating.

The foundation says if you’d like to help out following the devastating fire, they’ve set up a fund at the Cooperative Bank of Cape Cod.
