NORFOLK, MASS. (WHDH) - A child was hit by a car in Norfolk Wednesday morning at a school bus stop.

According to Norfolk Police, the crash happened at around 8:30 a.m at the corner of Strawberry Lane and Grove Street.

Emergency crews found the 2-year-old boy lying on the side of the road conscious and alert. Both of the child’s parents were on scene. He was transported to Tufts Medical Center via medical helicopter.

The driver of the car remained at the scene and has been identified as a 44-year-old Norfolk woman who lives in the same neighborhood.

Witnesses told police the boy was walking to the bus stop with his mother and older brother when the younger child darted into the road before being hit. No charges have been filed at this time.

The crash remains under investigation.
