ACTON, MASS. (WHDH) - A black bear was spotted wandering near Acton High School
Environmental police are now on the scene.
The bear was also seen near the police station.
A woman who was driving by on Route 27 took a photo of the bear after seeing it cross the road.
Afterwards, the bear was seen on school property. All schools brought their students inside.
Officials said they are trying to avoid tranquilizing the bear, so they are trying to push it into the woods.
Bears have been known to visit the area every couple of years.
Residents are urged to keep their distance if they see the bear, and to make sure to keep food inside.
