LUNENBURG, MA (WHDH) — Lunenburg Police are searching for suspects in connection with recent vandalism at a local cemetery.

According to the police department’s Facebook page, a large section of bushes were destroyed at the North Cemetery on Holman Street.

An employee from the Cemetery Department discovered the damage on Labor Day.

Police said it appeared as if the damage was done by someone using a chainsaw to cut a large swath of the bushes out of the bordering hedge line.

The plants that were destroyed are estimated to be more than 250 years old.
