BOSTON (AP) — Massachusetts authorities are stepping up security at public transit stations and regional transportation centers following a weekend explosion in New York that injured 29 people.

State police say they also plan to increase security for this Thursday’s New England Patriots game at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough. They are increasing patrols at transportation stations to supplement normal patrols by transit police.

The enhanced security comes as authorities search for a New Jersey man for questioning in connection with weekend explosions in New York City and Seaside Park, New Jersey.

The man has been identified as Ahmad Khan Rahami — a naturalized U.S. citizen from Afghanistan.

Massachusetts State Police say they have checked identification information for Rahami against multiple databases and so far have found no connection between Rahami and Massachusetts.
