NEW YORK (WHDH) - Boston Police Commissioner William Evans completed the 46th New York City Marathon on Sunday.
He completed the marathon in a time of 3 hours and 46 minutes; he has run 51 marathons.
Although he was proud of his accomplishments, he said his thoughts were with the officers of the NYPD.
“Mile after mile, I saw officers standing guard along the route, I want to thank them for their service and for keeping me safe out there today. My heart goes out to the NYPD, given all they’ve gone through in recent days,” said Evans.
Evans even stopped to shake hands with NYPD Commissioner O’Neil before the race.
