MAYNARD, Mass. (WHDH) — Maynard officials responded to a residential neighborhood after a homeowner reported finding a suspicious device near their home.
The incident happened in the area of 6 Walcott Street around 11 a.m. Saturday.
When officials arrived and assessed the situation, Police requested the assistance of the Bomb Squad.
According to police, the bomb squad determined that the device wasn’t an explosive. They were able to render the device safe.
Officials said they don’t believe there was any kind of detonation mechanism.
The incident is being investigated as a possible hoax device.
