MILFORD, N.H. (WHDH) - A police officer went the extra lap to help a young boy in Milford, NH on Monday night.

The boy’s soccer ball had made its way into the water when Officer Bailey came to the rescue.

Bailey made his way into the Southegan River at Keyes Field without hesitation.

The little boy is pictured waiting at the water’s edge decked in a Lionel Messi jersey while Officer Bailey ventured in.

He was in the area for the Fourth of July festivities and the department’s Facebook page shared his sweet deed.
