CONCORD, N.H. (AP) — New Hampshire is hosting a daylong conference focusing on the children of incarcerated parents.
It’s called “Counting the Days” and will be held Friday at the Grappone Conference in Concord. The conference is targeted toward child and family therapists, law enforcement, educators, child welfare workers, lawmakers and others who may deal with children and juvenile issues.
Speakers will help attendees learn and understand the typical feelings of children with incarcerated parents, as well as risk factors and their impact on children.
Corrections Commissioner William Wrenn will address the group. The keynote speaker is Ann Adalist-Estrin, director of the National Resource Center on Children and Families of the Incarcerated at Rutgers University.
