CHESTERFIELD, N.H. (WHDH) - CHESHIRE, MA (WHDH) — Police are investigating a fatal crash in Cheshire early Friday morning.

Just before 1 a.m., police responded to a single-car crash on Fred Mason Road in Cheshire. One person was killed and four people were injured.

A preliminary investigation shows a 2009 Nissan Altima driven by a 19-year-old Adams man was traveling south when it veered off the road. The car collided with trees and rolled over onto its roof.

A passenger, Robert Pearson, 19 of Dalton, was transported via ambulance to Berkshire Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

Two other passengers, a 22-year-old North Adams man and a 30-year-old North Adams man suffered serious injuries and were transported to Berkshire Medical Center. The driver and another passenger, a 19-year-old woman from North Adams, suffered minor injuries and were also transported.

The crash remains under investigation.
