BOSTON (WHDH) - Sources tell 7News a JetBlue flight from JFK to Bermuda was struck by lightning and was diverted to Boston.

There were 119 passengers on the plane.

According to officials, a non-critical equipment issue happened on board first, causing the pilot to reroute the plane and head to Boston.

While re-routing, the plane was struck by lightning. Officials said the plane the detour to Boston was because of the equipment issue, not because of the lightning strike.

The plane landed safely at 9:44 a.m.

No one was injured.

Maintenance crews are now inspecting the plane.
