QUINCY, MASS. (WHDH) - On Monday around 7:30 p.m., Quincy Police saw what they believed to be a drug deal between two men.

Officers approached Andrew Costello and recovered seven medium-sized plastic bags of a tan powder believed to be heroin, and $545.

The bags weighed about 19 grams and tested positive for fentanyl.

Costello admitted to police he had just purchased the drugs from Leudy Fernandez-Santiago.

Fernandez-Santiago was pulled over by police and was found to be in possession of $1,107 cash. A search of the car resulted in the discovery of an additional $5,804.

During a search of the car at police headquarters, a K9 found a hidden compartment that contained plastic bags of fentanyl, crack cocaine and cocaine.

Costello, 44, was arrested and charged with trafficking fentanyl and conspiracy to violated the controlled substance laws.

Fernandez-Santiago, 25 of Lynn, was charged with trafficking in fentanyl, conspiracy to violate the controlled substance laws, distribution of a class B drug and possession to distribute a Class B substance.
