NATICK, MASS. (WHDH) - NATICK, Mass. (AP) – Two children were airlifted to a Boston hospital for treatment of serious injuries sustained a single-car crash along the Massachusetts Turnpike this weekend.

State police say the accident happened just before 1 p.m. Sunday when a Range Rover carrying five passengers rolled over into a ditch near Exit 13 in Natick.

All lanes near the Framingham/Natick town line were temporarily closed to accommodate medical helicopters. A 6-year-old girl and an 11-month-old girl were rushed to Tufts Medical Center. Their conditions are unknown.

The other occupants of the sport utility vehicle, two adults and a third child, were not harmed in the crash.

State police say they are investigating what caused the SUV veer into the ditch.
