LAFAYETTE, La. (WHDH) – A Louisiana boy celebrated his ninth birthday by delivering hundreds of pizzas to people affected by last week’s floods.

Carson Boutte said he wanted to celebrate his birthday by bringing lunch to those affected by last week’s historic flooding and the workers helping them clean up.

“We’re going to give them lunch so they don’t have to stop what they’re doing,” said Carson. “We’re just going to deliver pizzas to neighborhoods that have flooded.

Carson’s father Ross Boutte said he was shocked by how many people pitched in to help Carson fulfill his goal. Dozens of people donated after hearing about it through Facebook and 363 pizzas were delivered throughout Lafayette.

“We thought it was going to be just our family and whenever it got out through Facebook, it just looked like the love wanted to be spread all over the area.”
