Sometimes warm fronts creep through without anyone noticing and other times (like today) they make some noise while passing through. We had a few hours early today of some showers & t-storms but those storms are now jumping into the harbor. That will allow sunshine to develop quickly during the morning hours and that sunshine will send temps into the 80s…perhaps forcing you to jump into the harbor later today.
The next two days are what we’ve been waiting for ever since those fierce cold winds ripped through us back in early January. Temps this afternoon will reach the upper 80s (low 80s coast/beaches) and the muggies will also enter the picture as the day goes on. By early evening it will be quite uncomfortable along the coast with the humidity.
Another round of showers/t-storms is possible very late tonight-early Wednesday morning then we are back into the sunshine during the day. For many of us it will be our first 90 degree day on Wednesday. On average (using a 30 year average), Boston typically reaches 90 for the first time by June 1st. Last year we hit 90 on May 31st (the latest into a year before reaching 90 was August 6th,1906).
By Thursday, drier and more comfortable air arrives with most towns seeing their dewpoints crash during the day. Afternoon temps finish near 83. Awesome weather is here for Friday.
