BOSTON (WHDH) - A Dorchester man appeared in court Friday after being accused of dragging two Boston Police officers down a Dorchester street earlier this week.

Vincent Weaks, 34, was in court Friday, where prosecutors say officers were responding to a call of a man with a gun when those officers approached a car.

Investigators said Weaks, who was behind the wheel, took off, dragging two officers.

Those officers, plus two others, were all taken to Brigham and Women’s Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

But Weaks’ lawyers and family say police arrested the wrong person, and that Weaks was home with his girlfriend.

Hours later, police found the rental car they say Weaks was driving and made an arrest.

Weaks’ sister says the allegations against her brother don’t reflect the man she knows.

Weaks is being held on bail.
