The man accused of killing Bella Bond will be back in Winthrop court for a pre-trial hearing.
Michael McCarthy faces murder charges after prosecutors say he punched the two-year-old several times last year, killing her.
Police discovered Bella Bond’s remains on Deer Island last June.
For months, she went unidentified and was only known as “Baby Doe.”
Her mother Rachelle has been charged as an accessory to the murder for allegedly trying to cover it up.
