HOUSTON (WHDH) — A case of animal abuse was caught on camera in Texas—a dog stabbed in its own yard.
The dog “Chaz” should be fine, but the man in the video isn’t the dog’s owner.
Police have begun searching for him.
Veronica Castro and her family found blood in the yard first. The family then took a closer look at the Rottweiler mix.
“He had cuts on his lips, it was heartbreaking,” said Castro.
The family scrolled through overnight video—and what they found hurt them even more.
“This guy just stands there by the gate jabbing at him with the knife,” said Castro.
They said they don’t know the man seen stabbing at Chaz repeatedly.
The dog had surgery on Monday.
The family filed a report with police. They want to know who and why someone would hurt their dog.
“I’d like this person to be caught and get the justice Chaz deserves,” said Castro.
