WAREHAM, MASS. (WHDH) - Police are searching for a driver who took off after hitting and killing a man in Wareham.

Police say the crash happened on Cranberry Highway just before 8:30 p.m. Monday.

On Monday, police received calls reporting a pedestrian had been hit. The callers reported the victim was struck by a white Ford pickup truck which turned around after hitting the man and drove off.

Police found a 56-year-old Wareham man lying in the middle of the road. He was transported to Tobey Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

He has been identified as Ernest Robert Raddatz.

Any investigation is ongoing.
