A man wanted in connection with a crash and an assault on a Revere police officer has turned himself in.

Michael Gouthro, turned himself in at the Revere Police Station on Monday.

He was arraigned at Chelsea District Court on Monday on multiple charges stemming from a Feb. 18 incident in which he allegedly attempted to stab a Revere police officer with a hypodermic needle and then led police on a car chase. He was held $100,000 bail.

According to police, Gouthro has been wanted by Revere police and several other law enforcement agencies.

A woman was arrested last week after a police chase through Saugus that ended in a head-on crash.

Gouthro, a second suspect, ran away after the car, a stolen 1989 Buick LeSabre, crashed.

Monday morning, State Police attempted to stop a stolen car on Route 1 in Saugus. The driver refused to stop and the car sped off down the Lynn Fells Parkway.

Minutes later, a witness notified State Police that the car had crashed and a man had run away.

Jacqueline Murphy, 32 of Revere, was found inside the vehicle and was arrested on wanted warrants.

Murphy and Gouthro are wanted in connection with an assault on a Revere police officer last week with a syringe.

Murphy was transported to a local hospital under police guard.
