HARWICH, MASS. (WHDH) - The New England Aquarium confirmed that a manatee was spotted in the waters off Harwich.

Officials from the aquarium said it is unusual for manatees to venture this far north, as the animals can get hypothermia in water colder than 68 degrees. Currently, the water off Cape Cod is 72 degrees, abnormally warm for this time of year.

Crews are now deciding if the manatee should be moved into warmer water.
