OSTERVILLE, Mass. (WHDH) — Firefighters said a man’s body was pulled from a pond in Osterville Monday evening.

Firefighters said they received a 911 call from a person at Joshua Pond, who said they were approached by two young children saying their 36-year old father from Hyannis had gone into the pond and had not come out.

Dive teams went into the pond. Between 30 and 45 minutes later, firefighters said the man’s body was pulled out.

According to the police report, the man was found 6-feet beyond the rope that marks off the swimming area.

There were no lifeguards on duty at the time.

The name of the victim has not been released.
