A 58-year-old Massachusetts man was killed in a ski accident in Vermont on Monday.
Vermont State Police say the man, identified as Shirinian Varter of Watertown, was skiing with a family member at the Burke Mountain Ski Area at around 3:40 p.m. when he lost control.
Varter traveled into a wooded area and struck a tree, according to Vermont State Police. He was pronounced dead on the trail.
Police say Varter was not wearing a helmet.
Police say there are not signs of foul play and will conduct a autopsy.
