United Health Foundation released their annual report of America’s health rankings.

The state rankings were based on a number of factors including obesity, physical inactivity, air pollution, infectious disease, primary care physicians, cancer deaths, and more.

Massachusetts came in second in the rankings, behind only Hawaii.

Three other New England states were in the top 10 with Connecticut at three, Vermont at five, and New Hampshire at six.

The three states with the lowest rankings were Arkansas, Louisiana, and Mississippi.

United Health Foundation has been releasing annual health rankings for 27 years.
