BOSTON (WHDH) - Massachusetts residents voted overwhelmingly against question one on this year’s ballot, a measure that would have allowed the Gambling Commission to issue an additional slots parlor license.

If passed, developers had hoped to add slots in Revere near the Suffolk Downs race track, though residents of the city would have had to vote before any such parlor could be built.

That Revere vote will not have to happen because 61 percent of voters said “no,” while only 39 percent of voters said yes.
