Boston Mayor Marty Walsh will do his annual “State of the City” address Tuesday night.

This is his first chance to look back and check the progress made on key issues.

Public education will be a big focus of the speech, including his plan to expand full-day pre-kindergarten, and fix-up many of the city’s older school buildings.

Those plans still face a $50 million budget gap.
