WELLESLEY, MASS. (WHDH) - A man was hit and killed by a train in Wellesley on the Commuter Rail’s Framingham-Worcester Line.

The MBTA said the 59-year-old man was struck by the outbound train in Wellesley Square. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Passengers on board said they felt the train come to a sudden halt and heard the conducter loudly yelling “Emergency!”

The Framingham-Worcester Line was temporarily shut down as commuters were bused to the next stop.

The incident is under investigation but Transit Police do not believe foul play is suspected.
