More police officer shootings in Dallas and San Francisco

DALLAS (WHDH) - A Dallas police officer is recovering after a shootout last night. The officer was investigating an unrelated property crime when the shootout began.

He was not in uniform, and driving an unmarked police vehicle at the time.

When he identified himself as an officer, he came under fire and was shot in the foot.

And another officer was shot and injured last night in San Francisco.

The officer was responding to a call about a mentally disturbed person at a shopping mall.

The suspect shot at officers when they tried to confront him.

He then ran away from police, but they were eventually able to arrest him.

The officer is lucky to be alive after the bullet grazed his head.
