Finding yourself giving a little boost to the heat in the house recently?  Last night was a COLD one – and the coldest it’s been for Boston (17°) since March 13th (14°)!  This type of weather makes me want to do some caroling, so here goes nothin’:  “The weather outside is winter – and it shows no signs of slowing… so as long as it’s gonna be cold, let it snow!  Let it snow!  Let it snow!”  (This is why I’m no longer allowed at local karaoke nights… I always mess up the words to the classics).

We are tracking more snow on the way – and it arrives very soon.  It’s not a lot of snow, but it will pester our Friday evening.  Snow starts to break out between 5-7pm south and west of the Boston Metro area, and between 7-8pm from Boston to the NH Seacoast. While it won’t be a big storm for us, some steady snow between 7pm -1am will be good enough to coat the untreated roads and even add up to 1-3″ for Southeast Mass. Pretty much the same locations that saw the 1-3″ of snow yesterday, see another 1-3″ this evening. Keep the evening plans, just take your time and watch out for some slick spots on the roads.

Because the temps are so cold, it’s light, fluffy snow we’re tracking tonight.  Even though it’s a quick moving system that passes well to the SE of Nantucket, it may be able to drop close to 4″ there.  All of this is done by 1am – when the Winter Weather Advisory will expire:

The weekend looks mainly dry – but still cold!  Tomorrow’s highs will be in the upper 20s and low to mid 30s – with some afternoon sunshine.  However, the breeze is back in the picture to add an extra chill.  Also, we can’t rule out a quick passing flurry in inland areas.  If that happens for anyone, it would be very isolated and shouldn’t last long or amount to much.

The next snowy blip on the radar will be early Monday – but it really is just a “blip.”  We don’t have specific numbers for that one yet – but I’d say a coating to an inch is about all we’ll see out of that one.  Cheers to the weekend!  – Breezy
