One year ago today, the city of Boston hit 99 degrees as the hot and humid July of 2013 rolled on.

This July, 90 has been more hard pressed to come by, and we’ll certainly be well below that today.  With winds turning onshore, temps in the city stay in the mid to upper 70s this afternoon, with low to mid 70s along the beach.  In addition, batches of mid to high level clouds continue to move in, at times dimming out the sun.  We’ll call it filtered sun for the day.  Humidity is still in check, so overall it’s another comfortable day.

Clouds continue to be an issue on Sunday, with not a whole lot of sun expected.  The cloud cover doesn’t produce much rain though, as the bark is worse than the bite.  A few sprinkles or a shower may fall across the Cape and Islands, but amounts of rain would be limited.  While it may not be a good beach day on the Cape, I wouldn’t necessarily go changing tee times and cookout arrangements.

If you like heat and humidity, you’ll find it mid-week with temperatures surging toward 90 by Wednesday.

The next chance of widespread storms with a cold front will arrive Thursday.

Have a good weekend!
