Amid a heated national gun control discussion nationwide, one sheriff’s office in New York is encouraging residents to carry guns.
In a post on its Facebook page, the Ulster County Sheriff’s Office asked those who are licensed to "responsibly take advantage" of their right and carry weapons, "to ensure the safety of yourself and others."
Ulster County is located roughly 100 miles from New York City.
