BOSTON (WHDH) — The big question: Will Whitey Bulger testify? Some say new pictures released by the defense indicate that the reputed mob boss may take the stand.

Prosecutors have pushed for an answer saying he's had enough time to think about it.

Whitey Bulger's lawyers submitted a group of personal, private photos of Whitey Bulger late Wednesday.

Bulger’s defense hopes the judge will allow the images to be shown to the jurors.

The pictures show Bulger at various points throughout his life, including some images that are black and white from Bulger's earlier days.

The collection also includes images of Bulger's longtime girlfriend, Catherine Greig, as well as another former girlfriend, Teresa Stanley.

Some of the images show Bulger on vacation, while others showing him hold animals, including Greig's dogs and even a goat.

One picture also shows him posing with former NHL player Chris Nilan next to the Stanley cup.

The judge met with lawyers on both sides Wednesday to discuss whether Bulger will testify.

If they made a decision, they didn't make it public.

Relatives of some of Bulger's alleged victims said they want the 83-year-old to take the stand before the trial ends.

"I'd like to hear his side because the feds aren't giving too much for his side as it goes. So I’d love to hear his side. Will we ever? I don't know," said Steven Davis, the brother of one of Bulger’s alleged victims.

"If he wants to try to save whatever name he has left, he has to take the stand and more and more, as it comes closer to the end, I think he is going to take the stand. My personal opinion, I think he is,” said Tommy Donahue, son of an alleged Bulger victim.
