A bakery in Belmont is closed after an oven exploded inside the building early Tuesday morning.

The owner of Ohlin’s bakery says he is lucky to be alive after he escaped with singed hair and eyebrows.

He says he was inside with another worker when the explosion happened.

The explosion knocked him off of his feet, but the other worker was not injured.

The back wall of the bakery collapsed and a window was blown out of the barber shop next door.

Officials are calling it a "flash-fire."

Firefighters and gas workers are on scene investigating the cause and believe it could have been a gas explosion.
