BOSTON (WHDH) - Boston Police are investigating after a stabbing at Brighton High School Wednesday morning.

Officials say an altercation took place between two ninth-grade students in the school’s cafeteria at around 10:40 a.m.

One of the students was stabbed in the leg during the fight.

The injured student was transported to the hospital. The other student was arrested on-site.

Officials say both of the students were teenage boys.

The school was put into safe mode following the altercation, where it remained for about an hour.

According to officials, safe mode means that no visitors were allowed inside the school, but classes continued as usual.
