WEST WARWICK, R.I. (AP) — The parents of a 9-month-old girl have been arrested on neglect charges after their baby was brought to Hasbro Children's Hospital and tests found cocaine in her system.
Thirty-one-year-old Christopher Kidd and 25-year-old Erin Hobin, both of West Warwick, were arrested last Friday.
West Warwick Detective Sgt. Scott Amaral says the girl was brought to Hasbro for an unrelated minor injury on July 25. He says a toxicology test found traces of cocaine in her bloodstream. She and her 3-year-old brother were placed into DCYF custody that day.
Police say Hobin told them they users of cocaine and heroin.
The two were ordered held without bail on Friday.
A message left with Kidd's attorney on another criminal matter was not immediately returned. It was unknown whether Hobin had an attorney.
