BOSTON (WHDH) - A pedestrian that was hit by an MBTA bus Thursday night has died.

The pedestrian was rushed to the hospital after being struck by an MBTA bus in the South End.

Boston Police said the pedestrian was hit at around 10:30 p.m. on the corner of Theodore Glynn Way And Massachusetts Avenue.

A private ambulance driving by stopped to take the pedestrian to Boston Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.

Boston Emergency Medical Services was not involved in the crash.

Police said it looked like the bus was making a turn when the pedestrian was hit.

Officers were on the scene until just before midnight and did not release any information on the driver or pedestrian.

There was no comment on whether any passengers were on the bus at the time of the crash.
