PEPPERELL, MASS. (WHDH) - Despite a rainy forecast that cancelled many Memorial Day events Monday, veterans in Pepperell decided to honor fallen soldiers anyway.

The Pepperell Police Department posted on their Facebook page Monday morning a photo of a group of veterans who decided to march the parade route, despite the parade having been cancelled.

“Although we weren’t exactly prepared for it, we are very proud of our Pepperell veterans who decided to march the parade route this morning even though the parade was cancelled,” police said.
