DEL MAR, CALIFORNIA (WHDH) — A low flying plane flew a little too close to surfers in the water off the coast of Del Mar.
The whole incident was caught on camera.
Officer Adam Chase says the video shows the Cessna flying as low as 20 ft. over the heads of at least four surfers, which Chase believes violates several FAA regulations.
Senior Lifeguard Tyler Grant was the fast acting camera man that seemed to catch the Cessna flying eye-level from his tower post.
“He hugged the coastline,” Grant said, “for about three quarters of a mile.”
Police are continuing to investigate.
