Hudson, NY (CNN) — Police in Hudson, New York broke into a vehicle to rescue what they thought was a “frozen woman,” only to discover it was a mannequin.
From pictures you can see it looked real and that is what police thought when they arrived after getting a frantic call from a passerby, worried about the elderly woman in the front seat.
It was just eight degrees outside and the car had a snow cover, leading police to believe the woman had been in the car all night.
She was not moving so police broke a rear window to get in and try to rescue her, only to learn it was a realistic life-sized mannequin.
Eventually police tracked down the owner who works for a medical company and explained the mannequin is used as a CPR training device.
