TIVERTON, R.I. (AP) — Authorities say police fatally shot a suspect after he allegedly shot and killed another man in a Rhode Island cemetery.
Police say the two elderly men died from their injuries on Monday night in Tiverton.
Police say gunfire was exchanged before the suspect was shot by officers. They say it happened after the suspect shot and killed a man at the Pocasset Hill Cemetery. Neither the suspect nor alleged victim was identified.
Authorities didn’t comment on a motive behind the shooting. It’s unclear if there’s a relationship between the two men.
