Police: Elderly man assaulted, robbed in Methuen

Police are looking for several men accused of assaulting and robbing an elderly man in Methuen.

The 77-year-old victim told police that he was bringing groceries into his apartment on Pelham Street when he was attacked. Police said the man was punched in the face and knocked to the ground before the suspects took several items from him.

"I know the guy, they beat him up real bad," said neighbor Paula McShan. "His teeth got broken, everything."

A sign at the apartment complex tells tenants that security cameras will now be installed. The man is now recovering and told 7News that he is really shaken up.
