QUINCY, MASS. (WHDH) - Police responded to reports of a rattlesnake in Quincy on Thursday.

According to the department’s social media pages, the Quincy Police responded to Grove Street for a report of a rattlesnake.

Because rattlesnakes can be dangerous, the department called in the Massachusetts Environmental Police to assist.

An officer arrived on the scene and determined the snake was an endangered Timber Rattlesnake.

The officer captured the snake in a bucket and returned it to the Blue Hills Reservation where it was released into its natural habitat.
