SOUTH BOSTON (WHDH) — Police spent hours investigating in the South End Tuesday after a sexual assault was reported.

Police said the sexual assault happened in a house near the intersection of Columbus and Clarendon streets.

The victim told police at around 4 a.m., an unknown suspect climbed into her apartment through a rear window. Once inside, police said he sexually assaulted both residents.

The victim described the suspect as a black man possibly wearing a hooded sweatshirt and multi-colored camouflage pants with red being the primary color.

The suspect was last seen running down Clarendon Street.
