CAMBRIDGE, MASS. (WHDH) - Police in Cambridge are working to identify a suspect wanted in connection with an armed robbery and commercial break in, authorities said.

A 66-year-old woman told police that she was approached on Feb. 10 by an armed man who asked if she spoke English and noted that he needed money.

Police said the man motioned as if he had a gun, looked through the victim’s bag and did not locate any cash, but found a debit card. He then allegedly walked the victim to a nearby bank on Massachusetts Avenue where she was forced to withdraw withdrew $100 for the suspect.

She described the suspect as a black male, in his late 20s, about 155 pounds with a beard, wearing a dark jacket with a hood and dark pants.

About eight hours later, a local department store reported that seven of their cash registers were pried open and that money was missing. The suspect fled the store with cash, police said. The suspect matched the description of the earlier robbery.

Anyone with any information on the incidents or information on this possible suspect is encouraged to contact police.
